Riva Gambling Introduces Bingo Club

Posted on 30-11-2007 | Posted in Bingo by Gambling Diva

Riva Gambling Group situated in Sutton, south west London is now officially the owner of the first ever in England fully electronic bingo club.

The Gala Group makes a use of more than 600 handled terminals as a substitute for the usual paper bingo tickets.

The terminals have more games than what’s on offer in the traditional bingo halls and they also provide consumers with more different options.

The Riva Club at the moment is only electronic bingo hall, so it has achieved an early monopolistic position in this sub-market that has been moving into the bingo lovers’ lives through sources of media and introduction of some elements in traditional halls.

Riva Group is hoping this will attract new audiences, as the game will become more modernised and high-tech.

What do you thionk about this, guys? Do you like the idea of having robo-bingo or not?

It will definately feel like a alien idea at first, but I think after a while this could indeed attract different players. The only concern that I have is will this new market feel like an invasion for the loyal bingo players who might just turn around and leave as the whole thing is changed now

Two Betting Shop Robberies: one successful, the other foiled.

Posted on 26-11-2007 | Posted in Betting by Gambling Diva

The 25th and 26th of November were not good days for bookmakers, that’s for sure. According to a BBC news story, armed robbers got away with thousands of pounds after threatening staff at a betting shop in Oxford with a machete and shotgun! A machete is certainly not the typical robbery weapon, but I wouldn’t hesitate to hand over any money I had if someone pulled one on me. Police said two men entered Ladbrokes on Blackbird Leys Road Saturday night and stole £2,000. The robbers were wearing balaclavas and one of them also had a fluorescent jacket. Although the staff was startled by the robbery, no one was injured. Just 24 hours later, a betting shop worker was attacked on his way home by two men who tried to force him to return to the shop and open the safe. The worker had locked up Betfred premises in Blackpool Road, Ribbleton, and Lancashire before waiting for the bus, where he was attacked. According to BBC news, the Betfred worker was hit over the head by what police believe was a gun, and he was ordered to return to the bookmakers. In this story, unlike the one 24 hours previous, the good guy wins out in the end. The worker managed to escape and raise the alarm. The two men have not been caught, but they did not manage to get inside the safe.

New multiplayer poker game - on a mobile - hello????

Posted on 23-11-2007 | Posted in Poker by Gambling Diva

The developer and publisher Zed have brought out a multiplayer poker game.  Running a multiplayer game over mobiles is an impressive technical achievement, which is why so few publishers have done it.
The software is available to premium subscribers to the company’s Club Zed service. The game involves competing for virtual cash, although you’ll also earn points to make your way up the rankings. You can compete in tournaments, play against friends, or drop into random games full of random people.
Zed has got game chat, the ability to add other players to your buddy list, along with an internal email system to arrange games so you’re all online at the same time.
This is certainly a great achievement by Zed meaning you can play for fun wherever you are - looking forward to having a go on that one

Poker Pammy

Posted on 14-11-2007 | Posted in Poker by Gambling Diva

I love that whatever pamela Anderson does, she is surrounded by controversy. So her latest wedding took place in veags and she and her new hubby spent hours hanging out at the Las vegas poker tables.

pammy had attempted to launch her vey own online poker site back in 2006. Her new love interest, Rick Salomon also calls himself a professional poker player (and porn director - Paris Hilton - One night in Paris).

In the 2006 WSOP Rick managed to finish in the top 200. But that still means there were scores of people above him. But while I dont like the guy I guess I cant knock him for getting that far, I mean its further than I have gotten!!

But then I dont call myself a professional poker player.

Too obsessed with poker!

Posted on 14-11-2007 | Posted in Poker by Gambling Diva

I was amazed to have read yesterday that a father of two was arrested after having left his young children in the car to go and play poker with his friends!  What was he thinking!  Poker is understandably important to so many people as it creates a buzz that no other sport can give.  But to have your own children in the car, with the engine running is unexcusable.  I could understand forgetting to flush the loo before rushing to a game or forgetting to feed the cats.  It was lucky that the patrolling officers found the car, otherwise who knows how long those kids may have been there.

This incident has got me thinking.  I wonder if David Beckham has ever left his boys in the car in the car park behind Old Trafford or the Bernabeu.  Or maybe Barry Bonds once forgot to met his mum at the airport because he wa to busy hitting home runs.  Or maybe this incident was blown out of proportion?

what do you think guys, am I being a bit over the top about this?

Posted on 14-11-2007 | Posted in General by Gambling Diva

So there has been more bitching as Janice and Katie become the camp bitches. On her first night in camp Katie sidled up to Janice and told her about her time on the Apprentice.  They competed for title of biggest bitch in Britain. Katie is on the show to show another side to her. She is under the impression that people in the UK still care about her and what she is doing.

What else…. Well Janice got nominateed for a second Bushtucker Trial and this time she beat her opponent Rodney.  Rumble Rally involved being tied to a sinking car and attempting to untie the stars before the car sank.

Rodney managed to untie an impressive 8 stars before the car sank. Janice, the unlikely hero managed to untie 9 stars; “I felt like James bond”.

Rodney was sulking that he was beaten by a girl although noticed the work that Janice has had done and implied she was some sort of bionic woman.
