My tips on how to beat the bookies

Like me you want to take money from the bookie and not keep him in a high lifestyle and I can give you some tips to help you in your quest. I have not come up with a foolproof method, nobody has and even the experts only get it right in about one in five cases, put another way, they get it wrong four times out of five. The favourite in a horse race only comes up once every three outings so it loses twice in three races, but that is better than the tipsters.

The way I beat the bookie is to take a view of the available statistics so in a race of twenty horses you have a 1 in 20 chance of winning! But not all races have 20 runners; some have 6, and by betting on races with this number of horses you have increased your chances already to 1 in 6 and I would always choose races with few runners, the fewer the better. It’s not that I ignore a race with 20 or more runners, I consider that they statistically they are a bad bet.

I would be amazed if the bookie did not try to restrict my chances of winning and one way is to reduce each way betting on races with few runners, in a 6 horse race I would be restricted to betting on the first two past the post, but this still gives a 1 in three chance to collect if your horse comes first or second. I also look to races with 9 horses as the bookie will offer each way betting on the first three past the post, so I have a 1 in 3 chance again.

I find that it can be easier to beat the bookie by becoming one, well not by going to the course, I use the betting exchange. These exchanges I regard as the best sportsbetting sites because they offer better odds than traditional bookmakers and I don’t see as much of my betting profit disappearing into the bookie’s pockets. Basically these work by placing a bet online in the normal way, or I can be the bookie and post my own odds and others can match it if they wish to take me on.

Like me you can beat the bookies, you have to choose the way you bet and use statistics or betting exchanges.
