Trying to win a seat at the WSOP - my experiences

I am a poker player, indeed I have made it as a pro, so I naturally have always taken the greatest interest in the World Series of Poker and I have been trying to get a seat at the best poker site in the world. How did I go about this? Well I am British and I felt that a good place to try, at least initially, was for me to access the inaugural European tournament, which takes place at the new casino in Leicester Square, recently opened.

I like the format of the opening event which is called a HORSE event, Hold’em, Omaha, Razz, Seven card Stud high, Seven–card stud high-low Eight or better, all games that I play and enjoy. However I must try to get a seat before I can enjoy playing a HORSE tournament. I must win a satellite tournament, a qualifier if you like, and the number of seats available is low but I found that the higher the buy in, the more seats are on offer. My experience tells me that I have to find a satellite tournament that gives one seat for around 20 players.

In my search for these satellite tournaments, I have to spend a lot of time on the internet looking at online casinos and poker rooms that I am sure will give me valuable information about up and coming tournaments, and I have registered with some gaming alert sites that send me information direct to my desktop. So I have a lot of searching and work to do before I can start on my road to a seat in the WSOP, which if I am to attain my ambition I have to not just take part in a satellite game but win as well!

It is very hard work winning a seat at WSOP. I have also tried for many years and so far with no luck.

If you want a poker site to pay your entry fees then you need to qualify through their satellites and it takes perseverence and a little bit of luck!
